Her grandmother, Mary Ann Ferraro, taken about 1877 and probably an engagement photo.

On the right is an older Ralph as a Sergeant in the Royal Marines

Hello Sheila Sorry for not contacting you earlier we've been with up and down no time for computers, when I had the time the computer broke down, all the information I had in the computer was total loss. I send you an attached file, its me George at my grandson's third birthday party. Still have to research few more main families, many unknown name(s) and Date(s) unfilled, even though, I know they have existed or they do exist, I need to verify to make sure they are the ones. I invited you to view the Family Tree web site: "GIBRALTAR YEO FAMILY AND LINKS". The link below will take you to the web site: http://www.tribalpages.com/tribes/georgeyeo If you have any feedback, comments and suggestions about the FAMILY TREE'S ERRORS please send an email to George yeo at georgeyeo@gibnynex.gi

To: sheila@yeosociety.com Sent: Saturday, January 24, 2004 4:22 PM Subject: Re: Devon Surname List - Request for Information Hello Sheila My YEO interest stems from the marriage of Samuel Richard Ford THOMAS to Anna YEO on 8 Feb 1852 in St.Andrews, Plymouth. Samuel was a carpenter, son of John (and possibly Elizabeth FORD but I can't prove this). Anna was the daughter of Edward , a mariner (from marriage certificate). At time of marriage she was stated as living at 22 Ricmond Street but I haven't found this of much use. She was born approx 1830 (age stated as 51 born Plymouth in 1881 census where her name was shown as Anne - so I'm not sure whether I should be looking for Anna or Anne. Either way, I have not had any luck looking for father Edward. After marriage, the family moved to London and later to South Shields There was an Edward YEO (son of Edward and Ann) christened in 1799 in Stoke Damerel and this may be him but I can't establish the missing links. Also a maariage between Edward YEO and Ann HOSKIN in 1783 which could be his parents - but that's as far as I can get. I would love to establish definite parentage for Samuel and Anna(Anne). Do you have anything that may help? Who are you looking for? Regards Ray Fenwick (preferred e-mail address rayfenwick@yahoo.com otherwise ray.fenwick@totalise.co.uk )

Angela's Tree

Charlotte Ellen Yeo born September 9, 1841, parents Francis & Ann Brooking

(Note from Sheila Yeo - I am putting this information on-line, but think the e-mail address is now out of date)

From: "Ernie / Angela" To: Sent: Monday, April 02, 2001 12:55 PM Subject: Charlotte Yeo Dear Sheila,

It's so good to know that messages posted on the web really do work! This is what I have on Charlotte Ellen Yeo. Born: September 9 1841 in the Parish of Charles the Martyr in the County of Devon. The Registration district was Plymouth. Parents: Francis Yeo and Ann Brooking. He was a waterman and they were living in Catdown at her birth. I have a birth certificate which I obtained May 2000 Marriage: Samuel Davis (seaman). Married in the Parish Church in the Parish of Stoke Dameral, Devon July 24, 1861. He was 24, she 21. Both were living in Stoke Dameral when married. His father's name was also Samuel Davis (Mariner). I haven't be able to go back any further here. Samuel Davis was a very popular name in Devon and without his wife's name, it's been difficult. Witnesses at the marriage were Ann Evans and Adomiah Vopen? Ann, Samuel and Ellen were all illiterate. The marriage certificate is signed with "X" mark in place of their signatures. I also have a copy of the marriage certificate. Children: I have the dates and places of all their children's births but > I don't have access to it right now. I will forward it all to you soon. Samuel Edwin Davis 1863 John Henry (Jack) Davis 1865 > William Francis Davis 1867 Albert Edward Davis 1869 Ellen Davis 1871 Alice Caroline Davis 1873 Albert Davis 1875 Ernest James Davis 1877 Emma Jane Davis 1880 ,Florence Kate Davis 1883 (this is my great grandmother) Death: William Francis Davis died November 5, 1905 in Comfield, Wick, West Sussex. He was 38 years old and I believe, unmarried. His occupation was a sawyer. He died of cardiac disease, bronchitis and exhaustion. He is buried in Littlehampton Cemetery but there is no headstone. Samuel Davis died October 23, 1917 at 4a Field Place, Littlehampton, West Sussex. He was 82 years old - naval pensioner. He died of senile decay. Charlotte Ellen died August 17, 1922 at 4a Field Place, Littlehampton, West Sussex. She was 80 years old. She died of acute dyspepsia and vomiting exhaustion!! How awful for her. Samuel and Charlotte are buried together in Littlehampton Cemetery. My mother and I were digging in the Chichester Record Office last May, and we were determined to find something on Charlotte and Samuel. This is when we found her birth and their buriel spot. I assumed that as they were living in Littlehampton in their later years, they probably wouldn't have moved. > There were only 2 burial spots in the area so we checked with Bognor Regis office and they found William, Samuel and Charlotte, plus they gave us a > copy of the general burial grounds, so we were able to track down exactly where they are. There is a headstone is quite good condition for Samuel and Charlotte. We were quite stunned to find it as my mum grew up in Littlehampton and never knew that her ancestors were so close! Anyway, that's about it for now. Hope this helps. Regards, Angela Lynch

(In 2002, Angela was living in Toronto)
